Game Networking Book update.

Just thought I would drop you an update on the Blender Game Networking book. I am still working on it. It almost veered into the endless pit of no return, but I am finding a lot more time to getting back to writing again. Let’s hope for the best. Here’s a teaser screenshot of some context (Note: not necessarily the final draft) :

Networking Book and Config Generator

I have two things to announce today. The first is something that I mentioned a while back, but recently I’ve been doing a lot of work on. I mentioned before that I was working on a Blender Game Networking eBook and I’d like to give you some updates on what’s happening. In a nutshell, the book has evolved into much more then an eBook. I’ve been writing and editing like crazy on this book and I’m pleased to announce that I will be publishing this book in paper-bound form (yippe!). The book will hopefully include a CD with demo files and extra goodies to play with. However, I’m not even halfway done with writing the book yet. I’ll give you a heads up when I get close though and maybe even open a pre-order form so I have a good idea of what type of demand there is.
The second announcement, I will be launching some really cool developer stuff on my site very soon. I’m developing some code generators for compiling Blender with some easy to understand documentation. It should be a nice contribution to the community, especially for those who are just learning the ropes.
So keep your eyes open for some really cool stuff heading your way

BGE Networking eBook Update

Just thought I would keep you posted on the progress. I’ve gotten some time today to get some work done with the demo and the book, and I’m making a lot of revisions. First, the book is being converted to an online format. There’s many reasons for this, mostly security and accessability. You’ll be able to log into the site and view the book from anywhere online. Another benifit of this is utilizing web technologies. This allows me to create more dynamic and interactive content.
I’ve also started revising the book and changing some chapter content. There was a few things I wanted to add in so I had to switch some content around. With this comes the only downfall, in that the release is being pushed back. There hasn’t been any set date for release, but this just makes it a little longer. Hopefully I can finish this soon so you all can enjoy it. I applogise for the delay, it’s pretty hard to write an entire book by yourself. Anyways, back to work I go . . .
